This is Brian's epic song in 6/8 time signature. When recording, Mollie and Brian came up with the idea of the spacey cello sound and Denny added some effects to make it sound even further out there. The cello in beginning and end has been described as a whale song. We sometimes refer to this tune as "spacegrass". It shows the variety of music that we play and adds depth to the album.
Here's what Brian had to say about the song. It was written while serving in Ethiopia, the song is about the human condition of life being made of small moments and events and how we manifest our own suffering, but upon meditation we can see the truth of how life is just a collision of these little events that smash together in our heads and that these events do not make us who we are, we are who we chose to be moment by moment. Right now I am, and the next moment I am. The one thing that never changes. What comes after "I am" is up to us.
